Shannon Sliva
RJRC Research Fellow, 2022-2024

Shannon is an Associate Professor in the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Denver where she partners with Colorado communities and prisons to design and test restorative approaches to justice. Shannon is one of the creators of the national Restorative Justice Legislative Directory. She tracks state-level restorative justice legislation across the U.S., and partners with Colorado practitioners, policymakers, and advocates to document the impacts of leading-edge restorative justice laws and develop recommendations for policy transfer. As an RJRC Fellow, her goal is to help design a vibrant research community which is capable of honestly assessing the opportunities and limitations for restorative justice practice and policy in the U.S. so that our time, funding, and social resources can be used more generatively in service of the restorative world we imagine. When Shannon is not at her desk, in the classroom, or meeting with community partners, she is probably exploring the mountains and parks of Colorado with her family.
